Conky 2000 of Pee-Wee Herman's Playhouse

For those of you unfamiliar with 'Conky' or 'Conky 2000', he was one of the many colorful characters from Pee Wee's Playhouse, a show that aired from 1986 to 1990.  I have been wanting to add Conky to my website for quite a while, but was limited by the number of pictures of him.  I resorted to grabbing a few frames myself from a video tape I had from years ago.  The show actually won a few awards from what I understand, and drove mother's nuts!  Yes, it was silly, but I give it the highest rating for creativity.

Conky was very well made for a robot made from household junk.  If you look carefully, you can see his eyes are old camera flash attachments.  His chest has what looks to be an old portable stereo.  His torso has a phonograph.  His head kind of looks like an old typewriter, but it has no keys- maybe it's a toaster or something?  Many other common items can be identified too.  Anyway, for a robot made from junk, he moved very well, and had a lot of character and charisma!

I am a fan of Paul Reubens (A.K.A. Pee Wee Herman), not what he did that got him in trouble (which I'm not going to get into on my robot site), but his work as an actor.  Pee-Wee Herman brought me a lot of enjoyment from both the children's show and movies.
