A handful of eclectic Americans know of Marvin, the paranoid robot.  I think they're mainly people I hang out with, or similar types.  Marvin is the creation of the British writer Douglas Adams, one of my favorite authors.  He wrote the "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" series, "Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency", as well as other projects.  I never quite understood why Marvin was called the paranoid robot, when he mainly seems to be depressed to me.  The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy was originally a masterfully written radio play, which eventually was made into a program (picture on left).  The Picture on the right was taken from an artful book recently published.  I must say, Marvin has an extremely diverse appearance, including the Marvin I imagined in my head while reading the books and listening to the radio plays.  If you haven't checked out Douglas Adams the author, what are you waiting for?  So long and thanks for all the fish!
