Twiki from Buck Rogers in the 25th Century

Sound 1

Ah yes, and then there was Twiki.  This pint sized robot from the hit 1970's television series "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century" was the unlikely sidekick to Buck Rogers.  The premise goes like this:

"The year is 1987 and NASA launches the last of America's deep space probes.  In a freak mishap Ranger 3 and its pilot Captain William 'Buck' Rogers are blown out of their trajectory into an orbit which freezes his life support systems and returns Buck Rogers to Earth 500 years later."

Well, years past 1987, and we still haven't sent anyone into space in a "deep space probe".  We're probably afraid of discovering disco 500 years in the future.  Any volunteers out there?  I actually miss the show for want of the Sci-Fi channel.  I still get a kick out of the separate computer that hangs from Twiki's neck (first picture) that appears to be more intelligent than Twiki and Buck combined.

I still think Twiki was really Gary Coleman!
